Measuring carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation potential of croplands under different climatic scenarios using RothC model

Abstract

This peer-reviewed study assesses historical and future soil organic carbon dynamics and climate-mitigation potential in croplands in Karvir, western India. It combines RothC and InVEST modelling with field measurements and climate scenarios. Results point to a risk of declining carbon-sequestration capacity under future climate pathways, highlighting the importance of climate-responsive soil management.
