Environmental and Social Impacts Assessment of Aynak; the World’s Second Largest Copper Deposit Project

Daira Sabz Environmental Consultancy Services Company has officially commenced the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the Aynak copper deposit project, one of Afghanistan’s most significant economic projects.

Following the receipt of formal authorization from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of the Islamic Emirate, Daira Sabz deployed its technical and expert teams to the project site. These teams, composed of trained, experienced, and professional experts, are tasked with conducting comprehensive assessments of the environmental, social, economic, and cultural impacts of the project.

Currently, Daira Sabz’s technical teams are engaged in extensive sampling and surveying activities across various sections of the assessment. The company’s commitment is to fulfill this crucial national responsibility in close coordination with relevant agencies and stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective implementation of one of the country’s most important economic projects.

In pursuit of this objective, Daira Sabz has deployed engineers, consultants, and experts along with the latest technologies to the Aynak Copper deposit site. Concurrently, the company’s officials and experts have been actively engaging with representatives from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, the National Environmental Protection Agency, the local administration of Logar Province, and the local community.
