Geotechnical Services and Laboratory
Geotechnical investigations, soil and rock testing, foundation and slope advice, and groundwater assessment for mining and infrastructure projects.
Understand the ground before you commit to the design.
Ground conditions influence the safety, cost and performance of mines, roads, buildings and other infrastructure. Daira Sabz combines site investigation, soil and rock testing and geotechnical interpretation to help clients understand subsurface risks and develop appropriate engineering responses. Our advice links field evidence with the project’s design and construction decisions.
Geotechnical services for project decisions
- Ground investigation and characterisation: Review site information, plan boreholes and sampling, interpret field testing and develop soil and rock profiles for the proposed works.
- Soil and rock testing: Define a project-specific programme of classification, compaction, strength, consolidation, permeability and rock-mechanics tests, with methods and testing arrangements agreed for the assignment.
- Foundations and settlement: Assess bearing capacity, settlement and soil–structure interaction to inform shallow and deep foundation options.
- Slopes, excavations and earth retention: Evaluate slope stability and landslide risk for open pits, cuts and embankments; advise on retaining systems, reinforcement and monitoring.
- Groundwater, seepage and dewatering: Assess groundwater conditions and their geotechnical implications; support seepage analysis, drainage and dewatering planning.
- Earthworks, ground improvement and construction support: Advise on fill suitability, compaction, treatment options and field verification, with technical review and construction-stage support where required.
Our approach
We develop the investigation around the proposed asset, ground risks and design stage. Field observations, sampling and laboratory findings are interpreted together to build a ground model. Recommendations explain the basis of design, uncertainty and further verification needs. Test methods, equipment, quality checks and any specialist laboratory inputs are defined for the programme.
Outputs and value for your team
Outputs can include a ground-investigation plan, borehole and test records, a ground model, geotechnical design parameters and recommendations for foundations, slopes or earthworks. Clear interpretation helps teams compare design options, target further investigation and manage ground-related risks during construction and operation.
