Who should take this course?

The primary audience of this course is bachelor’s and master’s degree students.

What do I need to know, and what will I learn?

No prior knowledge is required. After taking this course, you will be familiar with many crucial employability skills in Afghanistan’s job market. Thus, you will be more prepared when applying for jobs and able to turn a job opportunity into career success in the country.

Course Structure

Session 1: Introduction. In the first chapter, you will meet the instructors and gain an overview of the course. You will also learn what employability means and how higher education develops it.

Session 2-Career Identity Your career identity means understanding yourself in the labour market, which is determined by various factors such as your competencies, motivations, and values. In this chapter, you will learn how understanding and reflecting on such elements can form a coherent career identity and help you toward greater self-confidence.

Session 3: Job Application Skills This chapter will give you an overview of the Afghan job market and various skills for identifying job opportunities, writing your application documents, and carrying out an effective job application process. You will also gain access to free CV and cover letter templates in English and Persian/Pashto.

Session 4: Workplace Analysis Daily work within an organization is different in every country. The contents of this chapter guide you in analyzing the structures and interpersonal aspects of your workplace to make integration more accessible and improve your performance early on.

Session 5: Psychology of Employability. Employability is often linked to psychology. How well you tackle workplace challenges and develop professionally depends on your attitudes, efficacy beliefs, and self-confidence.

Session 6-Career development project, course evaluation, and certificate distribution: This session will focus on supporting you in providing your career plan, and the instructors will provide advice.

Fee

The fee for the course is 5,600 Afghani, and there is a discount for group participation.

Training Approach

Our seasoned trainers with vast experience as expert professionals in their respective practice fields deliver this training. The course is taught through a mix of practical activities, theory, group work and case studies. The training is designed based on the principles of participatory adult and student-centred learning approaches that would build upon the experiential learning of participants. The programme pedagogy focuses on interactive group learning and aims at knowledge development and skill upgradation through peer learning. Reading and resource materials developed by leading subject experts augment the classroom experience. Training being a mutual learning process, the programme is built on the premise that I hear,  I forget; I see, I remember; I do, I understand. The training manuals and additional reference materials are provided to the participants.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be issued a certificate.

Training venue

The training will be conducted at the training centre of Daira Sabz Consulting’s main office in the Dehbori, 3rd district of Kabul city, Kabul, Afghanistan.

Payment

The training investment covers tuition fees, learning materials, lunch, refreshments (tea, coffee, cake and cookies) and the training participation certificate.
