20/12/2023— Daira Sabz, a leading consultancy based in Kabul, has been awarded the prestigious third prize in the ICIMOD’s Clean Air Prize 2023. This recognition applauds Daira Sabz’s groundbreaking efforts in developing a cost-effective filtration system for residential households, significantly contributing to the reduction of air pollution in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region.
ICIMOD, the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, announced the winners on 11/12/2023, acknowledging Daira Sabz for its innovative approach to combatting air pollution. The Clean Air Prize aims to celebrate and promote solutions that address the pressing issue of air quality in the HKH region.
Daira Sabz’s Award-Winning Solution:
Daira Sabz’s award-winning filtration system provides an affordable and effective solution for residential buildings in Kabul that primarily rely on coal for heating. This pioneering technology is seven times more cost-effective than commercially available setups in the market, making it a game-changer for addressing air pollution in Afghanistan.
